Spotify keeps getting stuck. The pauses are getting more frequent.

Spotify keeps getting stuck surface pro and Desktop. For the past couple of weeks the app keeps freezing and doesn't let me click or play anything, then when it does tracks get stuck on the now playing screen and I'm unable to control anything, even when the app is closed correctly. I've gone in to my account settings on desktop and click on "sign out everywhere". My spotify is completely useless.
